Lajollacooks4u’s Weekend Culinary Adventure is one of our most popular summertime service offerings, and mother-daughter duo, Teresa and Emily, were the latest to give this package a try.
Coming all the way from New York, Emily was looking for some easy, delicious recipes to try, and with it being her birthday, she thought our venue was the perfect way to celebrate. On Friday evening, the two began with a gourmet cooking class with Chef Jodi. Starting with olive oil and salt tasting, they prepared and feasted on a five-course meal, including our Beef Tenderloin in a Peppercorn Sauce and our new fan-favorite dish, Wild Mushroom Risotto with Mascarpone.
On Saturday, Teresa and Emily met up with Chef Jodi and toured San Diego’s Little Italy’s farmer’s market, learning all about farm-to-table cuisine, what is seasonal and why locally grown produce is in such high demand. They then selected the freshest produce they could find and brought it back to Lajollacooks4u to create their own three-course California cuisine meal, one of which was our Fresh Peach Crisp with our signature Goat Cheese Mousse.
Everyone had a wonderful time, and the day ended with everyone taking in the panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and savoring the delicious meal they created!
