Earlier this month, Chef Jodi traveled to Berkeley, California, to visit the Chez Panisse Restaurant, owned by one of her biggest inspirations, Alice Waters!
Chef, author and food activist, Waters pioneered the California Cuisine movement in the early 1970s, emphasizing the use of fresh and locally sourced ingredients and integrating them into healthy and flavorful dishes. Founded in 1971, her famed restaurant offers a menu consisting of three to four courses and changes nightly, each designed to be appropriate to the season and composed to feature the finest sustainably sourced, organic, peak-of-the-season ingredients, including meat, fish and poultry. Chef Jodi enjoyed the sea bass, among other menu items – an absolutely delicious dish!
Chef Jodi drew upon Chez Panisse and Waters’ devotion to farm-to-table cuisine when forming Lajollacooks4u ten years ago. Her recent trip inspired her to create new healthy menu items, and she can’t wait to share these with her guests!
