“These are a few of my favorite [kitchen] things!”
We’re introducing a new category of content for the blog! Chef Jodi of Lajollacooks4u has agreed to share some tips, advice, and fun facts from her years of experience traveling and cooking around the world.
To start off, Chef Jodi has decided to share some of her favorite things to use while cooking at home and with Lajollacooks4u:
- Baking Trays are an absolute must when it comes to baking and roasting.
“I have 3 different sizes in my kitchen: half sheet baking trays, quarter sheet baking pans, and since I have a large 30 inch oven , I can also use a full sheet baking tray. I especially like the aluminum trays, since all you have to do is spray with oil or use parchment paper; it makes roasting so easy!”
- Ceramic knives are perfect for precision cutting.
“I use my ceramic knife for cutting and slicing bread, baked goods and soft veggies, like tomatoes and mushrooms. I truly prefer my ceramic knife to serrated knives.”
- There are a handful of key ingredients you should always have ready in your kitchen: sea salt, fresh garlic cloves, olive oil, and lemon juice.
“A fun fact about lemon juice: it’s an amazing, zero calorie, flavor enhancer. So useful!”
