It’s been birthday season over here at Lajollacooks4u, and we’ve been having a ball celebrating them!
Up first, we had Guy M., who was celebrating his 60th birthday. He brought along his two friends, David and Charlie, both of whom were super-foodies. The three of them experimented around the kitchen, making delicious domino potato flowers and sautéed Brussel sprouts with black garlic and urfa chilies.
Said Charlie, “Jodi, you are amazing! We loved the menu combinations. We appreciated your attentiveness and hospitality. It was a truly memorable experience.”
Up next, we threw a special occasion for a returning guest. Julia W. visited Lajollacooks4u a couple years ago, and liked it so much she planned her dad, Reuben’s, 80th birthday with us! They made a delicious fig and olive chutney with Labne cheese and walnut raisin bread, braised short ribs and roasted salmon with sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes.
Said Reuben, “I couldn’t imagine a nicer 80th birthday dinner. Chef Jodi is not only a great chef, but a lovely hostess. I feel very lucky.”
