Warm weather, a hot grill, and fabulous guests?
Check, check and check! Lajollacooks4u is certainly fired up for summer! The month of May was a preview for all the excitement we at Lajollacooks4u are looking forward to this summer. Here are some highlights from this past month:
Teamwork makes the foodie dream work! Lajollacooks4u’s unique cooking and dining attraction was selected for two team building events by two local San Diego corporations.
H.G. Fenton brought six members from their HR department to Lajollacooks4u to get their cooking on. The team had a blast using Chef Jodi’s Traeger Grill and Smoker.
The entire team loved the collaborative activity of hands-on preparing, and then dining on, their personalized gourmet meal. The event really established a sense of team unity and strengthened the bonds between team members.
Eighteen members from senior management positions at Illumina faced off for three cook-offs! The three teams of six took on the cooking, baking and the grilling for the evening!
The group’s humongous menu included Pepperoni and Wild Mushroom Pizza Rolls, and a salad of Fresh Berries, Fennel and Roasted Purple Onion over Greens as the antipasti, with 2010 King Estate Pinot Grigio. The group took on two entrees of a Mustard Seed Crusted Beef Tenderloin and an Herb Crusted Halibut with a Caper Vinaigrette. Chopped and Grilled Vegetables with Orzo and Feta complemented the double entrees, served with 2010 Josh Cabernet Sauvignon. And who could forget dessert? Mudslide and Lemon Curd Mini Shooters topped off the evening’s meal.
The team left feeling happy and full, with plenty of memories to share once back in the office.
Lajollacooks4u also welcomed the young newlyweds, Thomas and Erin Desjardins, for a romantic foodie getaway.
Looking ahead to the many meals they will have together as a married couple, Tom and Erin Desjardins were looking for recipes to add to their repertoire. As with all cooking classes at Lajollacooks4u, the two took home a booklet of the day’s recipes to recreate in their kitchen. Last, but certainly not least, came Lajollacooks4u’s biggest fan, Turner Howell from Houston, Texas, for her 7th cooking class!
Chef Jodi had a blast covering three different menus, focusing on tapas, baking, and entrees with this charming woman. Lajollacooks4u loves cooking with true foodies!
