One of California’s leading firms, Hanna Brophy, stepped away from defending workers’ compensation claims to join Chef Jodi Abel, founder of Lajollacooks4u, for an exciting afternoon of team building at her La Jolla venue.
Twelve attorneys participated in Lajollacooks4u’s brand-new corporate cooking challenge: the Tapas Cooking Challenge, a fast paced team-building package where everyone is engaged in a fun and interactive experience.
Upon their arrival, the group competed in an olive oil and vinegar tasting competition and then was led through an assortment of interactive games in order to determine each cooking team. Once each team was formed, team members assembled into their assigned stations to prepare their chosen tapas dish. Each group was given 45 minutes to complete their challenge, and judges scored each group based on taste, presentation, collaboration and team spirit.
After the winner was crowned, the participants drank wine and enjoyed the delicious food from each tapas station, which included a Puff Pastry with Caramelized Onions, Figs and Gorgonzola and Salmon Cakes with Spicy Roulade. All in all, the new cooking challenge was an overwhelming success – one that engaged its participants and increased team morale.
In fact, one team member wrote, “Jodi worked with our law firm on short notice to accommodate our team of 12 for tapas and wine, incorporating fun competitions and providing solid recipes that were manageable for everyone. Definitely more fun than a stuffy dinner. The views from her location were beautiful!”
