This is a wonderful recipe to gift to friends during the holidays. You can also change up the spices and the types of nuts you use for different flavors. Get creative!
What You’ll Need:
1 large egg white
1 Tablespoon water
1 pound raw cashews, almonds walnuts and pecans(about 4 cups, you can also use any assortment of nuts)
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoon salt
1½ teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon coriander
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon paprika
What to Do:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
In a medium bowl, add raw nuts. Then, beat egg white with 1 Tbsp water until frothy. Pour over nuts and toss to coat.
In a large plastic bag combine sugar, salt, cumin, paprika, coriander, cayenne pepper and ginger. Add nuts, shake well and coat with spice mixture.
Spread nuts evenly on greased baking pan.
Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes, or until nuts are toasted and dry. Toss nuts when they come out of the oven so they do not stick together.
Cool completely and separate nuts. Can store in zip lock bag at room temperature or freeze.
