Last week was a busy one, as we kicked it off with a fun-filled team building event. Intuit brought 10 of its TurboTax software developers into the Lajollacooks4u kitchen where they participated in a delicious, four-course meal cook-off! The group broke into two teams led by Chef Jodi and Chef Samantha Rees and prepared mustard seed and herbed crusted beef tenderloin and Parmesan truffle fries. One Intuit participant, Glenn McGillivray, was so impressed with the experience that he hopes to bring Chef Jodi out to the company’s campus in Carmel Valley for a company-wide cooking challenge! Another participant who coordinated the event, Linda Potashnick, said her team absolutely loved their time spent with Lajollacooks4u!
Chef Jodi then spent the weekend signing copies of her best-selling cookbook! At Savory Spice in Encinitas, she whipped up her signature quinoa with black beans and corn, along with her whipped goat cheese mousse. Lindsey Burcham, Savory Spice’s manager, was so thrilled with Chef Jodi’s delicious recipes and cookbook that she invited her back for a cooking demo in November. Stay tuned!
On Sunday, Chef Jodi performed a cooking demonstration of her delicious seasonal recipes at The Spice Way using locally sourced honey! Owner Debbie Kornberg imports delicious herb rubs and spices all the way from Israel, as well as having a lovely selection of locally sourced products. Both shops are absolutely beautiful and filled with a home-cook’s dream of unique and fresh spices, along with flavored oils and balsamics.
Thank you again to Intuit, Savory Spice and The Spice Way! Hope to see you in our kitchen again soon!
